i really wouldn't trust any used knock sensor...if anything just buy the adaptor from ats and get a knock sensor from GM..

Im going to disagree with both of you. I would bet pretty well any Yota knock sensor would work. The ones I've pulled off of old Supra's and Cresseda's look the exact same as the one's I've pulled off st165's and 185's

not on a 3sgte but I did take one from a supra and it worked great on the Cresseda.. .I've also gone from 165 to 185. They all look exactly the same... fuck even the ones off 92 celica motors look as though they would work.

This is the funny thing about Toyota's that I have learned over the past few years. People are scared to try things. Toyota's are built from parts bin's just like Honda's and GM's; most parts are interchangable you just have to be willing to figure it out. Unlike Honda's and GM's though you actually have to put some thought into it to make it work.

knock sensors are just simple piezo-electrical elements.

---( lead wire )--( piezoelectric element )-- (ground aka. sensor thread)

when vibration is detected from the motor, it sends a signal. if that signal is more than a certain threshhold, it will pull timing. as long as the element is not damaged, then it should be fine.
