Re: today: sub/amp, rear celica decals

mike, I actually have a pretty big system in the car 4 Planet audio amps 400watts up front driving quart components, 250watt quarts in the rear running2 way coax. 600watt bridged amp running a rockford 10' sub in a custom fiberglass enclosure, I have a 400watt amp under my seat running 2 way coax. 4" in the dash, speakers balanced by a Nakamichi EC-20 electronic crossover . im not saying its bad to have a big loud system im saying it's ricy to have no amp for your 4 speakers and then an 800watt mono amp powering 2, 15" subs taking up the whole trunk going BOOM BOOM BOOM shaking the end links off your suspension. all boom and no balance makes jack a dull boy.. Im just saying go for balance not just boom, I'm an old dog and i've gone down the car audio route more than once and I think I've out grown it.. **sigh** I cant convince myself to upgrade my headunit to a dvd /gps type as I only drive 50km to and from work.. my system in in pieces now since I bought the alltrac (they were in my gt) 10 years ago I would have been working on my sound system till my ears fell off but now.. bah I drive to work listening to the news with the sub gain off and drive home listening to parts that may have fallen off my 20 year old car or strange sounds that I need to fix before parts fall off... maybe ill pull the whole car apart like subspec this summer and get down to doing my engine rebuild.. I though getting older gains you more patience to do things but I think I've just gotten more lazy.. and fat.

Lol dups how old are you. I've only gotten more active as I'm getting older. I've gone from a desk jocky (I had my bachleors in information system security when I was 20) to being a full time mechanic. I'm obsessed with turning wrenches. It annoys my wife. She says id rather work on the car then fuck her sometimes. Witch is sad and kinda true some of the time lol.

Ha, this was me when I had an excessively loud stereo, but it wasn't to show off, it's cuz I like my music deafening loud. I'd listen to it that loud even when there was no one around (backroad cruises for example). I was also ignorant of others back then, and even now tend to turn it down downtown, even though my stereo isn't really that loud.

I was at a comp once and compared my regular driving setup to comp setup on the same song. There was less than 1 dB difference. (and yes dups it was balanced out to the way I like it, which a lot of people said it sounded great.)
