I like the front end, but the tail lights kill it for me, and I don't find it ver appealing at all. But thats my preference, I'm sure he will enjoy the car though.

Its not the look I really like anyway. It just something I can live with and able to afford. So far its fun to drive. I'm keeping it below 4k and it already move quick. Throttle got no play at all, car moves as soon as the pedal is pushed.
Corolla XRS looks way cheaper with all green LED on radio and buttons. XRS got the best gauge but those green LED kills everything. I don't like the white gauge a bit but I can live with it more then green LEDs.
I can't get something too much better then the Celica. Still need to get it back on the road.

Does MIVEC have a 'kick' to it a la VVTL-i or VTEC?

Stock intake got a very small openning, so a CAI will help quite a bit. Stock exhaust is a header already but its a 4-1. There is aftermarket down pipe to make it a 4-2-1. There is already piggyback MIVEC controller.

Don't feel any kick yet, still under 4000rpm. So far it got power all the time. Hit the gas and it goes. Very sensitive to pedal movement.
