Re: dsm goodnes
the sounds is great.... best sounding car i've ever owned and the two resonators make it sound so mean yet still some what civilized
the opening up of the exhaust after the cat has totally changed the car as far as performance is concerned, i still only have an hour of time behind the wheel and i still haven't turned up the boost past 14psi but as it sits now the car feels like it was exhaling through a sponge before this swap. the spool on the forced performance big 28 turbo is already producing full power at only a hair past 3000 rpm but with the new pipes i feel that the boost comes on about 300 rpm sooner and seems to also hold it's peak a bit longer. i can honestly feel the rush of air flowing faster under the car and with the new sound you can visualize the compressed and re-compressed air being released out of the motor and past the turbo's hot side then simply flowing out the rear with as little back pressure as i can imagine short of no exhaust at all. the o2 housing and cat are still pretty small parts and there are a lot of options when it comes to swapping them for bigger pipes but i haven't decided if the boost spikes and bleeding caused by opening up the waste gate's path will be worth the gained power which could be made elsewhere...unlike my honda, it's not necessary to maximize everything on this car to achieve my goals. 300-350 hp can be obtained very easily here. actually even with the 11psi wastegate and the stock boost controller allowing it to run up to 14 then pulling it down to 11ish the car pulls much harder but at 21psi i am excited to see what's really good. the other changes I've seen with the exhaust seems to be a little change in movement of the air fuel gauge, which due to a second o2 sensor which is now located in a 3" portion of the exhaust. the fuel correction seems to be a little more narrow at idle and cruising at highway speeds. i think it's due to less gazes passing around it as there is now more cubic cm of space for flow in that region. I plan on getting some footage and sound clips of the car at this stage of it's life before i start really pushing air down her throat.
