believe the hype! 56K beware
it's cheap, power gains are pretty good according to my butt dyno and best of all, it's OEM
2000 camry 5sfe exhaust manifold was installed into my 92 GT coupe today.... here's my cost breakdown: 1. camry exhaust manifold - $50 from junkyard 2. OEM exhaust manifold gasket - $25 3. oxygen sensor - $30 4. labor to install and make downpipe - $50 5. Total - $155 6. Making the shop who said it didn't fit believe it at the end - priceless 1. Out with the old and the heavy ![]() 2. old skool technology ![]() 3. and in with the new ![]() 4. 5. Yes, it is from the camry.... u can see it written on the runner i'll wipe tht off later![]() 6. damn it sits high!!! ![]() well, after the install, i was driving back and i saw A LOT of smoke coming from my engine bay... everyone at the traffic light thought i was gonna blow up or something i pulled over quickly, popped the hood and there i saw it:... the freakin header sits so high tht it was touching the heat insulator... well, i ripped it off and junked it... u can say it's a form of weight reduction :D here's how my hood looks now... she looks naked lol comments pls! |

Re: believe the hype! 56K beware
i'm the first guy to put in a 2000 and up camry header into the celica, so it was very risky... it fits and i feel the gains, but i'm now having an issue with the header being close to the hood...so i need something to prevent the paint from blistering... anyone know of any heat insulator?
as far as gains go, it's mostly in the mid-range and top end as it is a 4-1 design... low end is abt the same, but a lil more responsive... but it did make the engine sound different tho.. a lil beffier imo..thanx for the comments guys |

Re: believe the hype! 56K beware
thanx for the links bro.... i know abt the cracking and melting due to the heat being kept in, but at this moment, i can't take it off to coat it... are those exhaust wraps u linked better than others or will they also mess up the header in the long run?
