i think those "shadows" is the image quality decreasing the the editing/resizing.

look in the gallery and notice how there's barely and shots from the driver side, let alone close ups.

old style headlights are okay, as long as black housed or the sti units. projectors are even better.

stock for stock, id pick the newer style. more character.

that and it doesn't look like a neon on steroids.
