Re: Something Is Coming Soon...
I agree with Martin on this one guys
not so much with hoods, but I also see his point its like sporting a 6 speed shift knob on a 5 or even worse a 4 See, my rear is badged GTS because its a lift from Mike that I have yet to respray, so until then its badged GTS (considering it hasn't seen daylight in weeks, or is safetied...) stays on, however it will be removed when the car is ready to make its debut Posing isn't cool, I do like the custom idea, the only problem then is, everyone you don't want to know its your car knows (ie: police, car thieves) its your car

Re: Something Is Coming Soon...
i'd go without the hood scoop... the scoop will prob cool down the motor a lil, but not by much imo... the only reason the alltrac has the scoop is cos the oem intercooler is where the scoop is....
and loving the work done on it man... don't forget to get some nice rims and a drop after all is said and done |

You are right. Before I painted the car I had the stock hood, and I noticed the paint started to fade slowly and started seeing dots of primer. The guy from the body shop told me that it's all the heat coming from the engine because I didn't have the foam that's usually beneath the hood so all the heat was trapped in the engine bay. Without the vents and the scoop, all the heat from the engine and turbo escaped through my vents so just imagine how hot it was in my car during summer. After putting on the AT hood, I noticed a big difference in the temperature in the car and you can actually see the heat coming out of the vents and the scoop which most guys said would be a big benefit performance wise. Opening the hood right now isn't too bad at all compared to before where I wasn't even able to touch the latch because of the heat. So I am happy with the AT hood although I wish I had the money at the time for the CS.

Re: Something Is Coming Soon...
in those shoes it would take me a week to design a hood that would be perfect for the application.... fuck toyota parts... he can do anything... the evo scoop with sti vents and a few down pressure venting and shit.... he could go HUGE
if it were me there would be a NACA Duct on the intake side of the motor feeding an air box and a depression behind the rad that would let the air raise over the motor and cool the hood... there are so many options Automotive Aerodynamics - Sport Compact Car Magazine read those... then get some paper and a pencil
