hey yall from Arkansas!
Hey everyone.
I've owned a silver, 2000 Toyota Celica GT for the past 10 years. I love the car, but there are some minor wear & tear issues I need to get caught up on. Then, I will be starting to turn this car into what I have always dreamed and will be marketing my business with it ... so it is all tax deductible!!! WOOT! Anyway, I'm so glad that I found this forum. I wont do much of the work myself - I'm not mechanically inclined - but I might try a few small things. I hope to find ideas and parts in the forum and get some questions answered. I'm sure I will have a bunch of dumb questions, but hopefully I will use the search feature to eliminate many of those. I look fwd to it! Thanks for the outlet! |

A little of both... well, maybe a lot of both. :) 1st: I gotta fix the dang thing! *Trunk hydraulics *New antenna *Get the engine cleaned etc. 2nd: Body Work I will start to alter the body with what I want under the hood in mind! Hood or Hood scoop: I can't decide what to go with. I like the rounded look and I would love for it to be functional as my engine is upgraded. Spoiler: APR or Varis look (if it doesn't cut down on visibility). Body Kit. I like the rounded, low to the ground, wide body look, so I'm thinking, APR GT300 Wide Body Kit or Trial Celica Aero Gear or something like this "Combat" kit I don't even know if those still exist, but that is the look I'm going for. Head/Tail Lights & Wheels: Projector lights with Halo rings in all. Red halo rings if I can choose. If not, white. Black backgrounds, maybe smoked. Not sure. I like my alloy wheels, but will probably opt for black mags of some kind. Doors: 120º to 130º Doors! EXTERIOR: Lighting RED & WHITE Neon or LED under the body & in grill with strobes in parts. All hooked to a switch board that is now a sunglasses case? or maybe those empty switch spots by the drivers left knee. Then, after the "body" is upgraded, I will either paint it all pearl white or gun metal gray/silver or will get the custom paint job. (I think I should wait until I'm completely finished before the custom paint job) 3rd: A/V & Interior Upgrades The next part is the Audio/Video and Interior upgrades. AUDIO: I don't want one of those systems that all you hear is the bass or the ear piercing treble. I want a system that makes you feel like you are at an IMAX movie theater with quality, balanced sound. Not just loud. Step 1: find if that system exist. Step 2: Upgrade my sound after upgrading the alternator, battery, and zero gage wires. I will put what I need to in fiberglass. I also want some speakers that are wireless, blue tooth that I can place outside the car. VIDEO: Add GPS/NAV screen that is also a monitor/dvd/gaming station, add large TV screen for Trunk (watching movies, playing games, etc) Use wireless speakers to place behind viewers for "rear" sound. INTERIOR: Lighting I want this hooked to the switches in the same spot as the exterior. I don't want to be able to see the lights, just the glow. Red mostly with white accents. Some strobes. I want a switch that makes it "go" steady on or does a "show" around the entire car. INTERIOR: Seats/Carpet/Panels/etc Now is the time to change the carpets, seats, instrument panels (black with red & white accents). Interior colors will also be mostly black (leather?) with red & white accents. This will make the lighting better at night. I'll also have a space for CB/Ham radio (big in our area) as well as cellphone docs (that I can change as phones upgrade & change) and onsite mp3 storage for the sound system & computer. BUSINESS MOD: Yall are going to think that this next part is crazy and that is ok... As I said earlier, this is a business car. I own a pizza restaurant. So, I want this to be a functional delivery vehicle for small parties. I want some way to keep about 30 pizza's warm. They make heating elements for delivery bags, it would be like that, but a little larger and operating on the car's power supply. If this is in the trunk, I want to be able to easily remove it so kids can play on the gaming system and the big TV in the rear. If it is in the back seat area, it needs to be easily accessible so the driver & helper can get the pizza out easily. No doubt, this is a custom job, but I think it can be done. I also have to have some sort of super airflow so the car doesn't get too hot. NOW, custom paint job! I do NOT want a custom job with my company name & logo all over the car, but I want to use our company color scheme and a few shapes (red/white checker diamonds) somewhere on the car. So, if you know our company, you will know the car and if you don't, you will ask someone about it! I will probably have a magnet made that I can stick on the doors and it look good with the paint job (if we wanted to). Then, people can "rent" the car to have at their event or party - with pizza! And we will be in parades, community events, ball games, auto shows etc. Tons of fun! So, after all that jazz is complete, I'm going to upgrade or change out the engine so I can take this thing out to a track to make it scream. So that is the dream. I know it is going to take a lot of luck and $$$$$, but in the end, it will be worth the marketing!! When I have finished the Celica ... I'm going to start on our pizza truck (off roader - big tires & more pizza) and then the BUS! That thing will have a full kitchen! Tailgating like never before! We will see.... Re: hey yall from Arkansas!
could always go with a vehicle specific scoop.
Toyota Celica VIS Racing Zyclone Style Fiberglass Hood Scoop - 00TYCEL2DZYC-009 by VIS Racing Body Kits Conversions the gt200 wing should not be too high. also, have you checked out varis as far as bodykits?

Good thoughts on the scoop. I've looked at some Varis, but the ones I have seen so far have two pointy things that stick out on the bottom of the car. It just isn't my style. I want more of a rounded look. Have you seen one in particular? |
