1992 Celica GTS no spark, won't start!

I'll be away from the computer for a day and when I get back I'll pull the cap off and look for moisture or cracks, cleanliness, etc... I'll also have a ohm meter to test the coil which I now believe is within the cap itself. We'll see.
I much appreciate all you good people have so far done to help me fix this problem. I have a little mechanical knowledge, enough to be able to do this job with proper tools.

UPDATE!

Ok, I took the distributor off of the car after doing all the other checks.
The only thing I found deficient was the resistance of the coil (secondary resistance test). It read 3.52 Kohms using 20 Kohms on the tester. The Haynes repair manual specifications state that this resistance should be 10.0 to 14 K-ohms. That's quite a difference and the manual says to replace the coil. When I ask Toyota for a new coil, I wonder if they will order me one or want to replace the whole distributor which looks in great condition to me. It's a holiday here today (Canada Day) and everything is closed so have to wait until tomorrow for that answer from Toyota.

The other question I have is if it is safe to go with aftermarket coil if Toyota is too expensive.
I see one on AM Auto parts for US $40.00 and it looks identical to Toyota's.
Just wondering.

just buy one from klue. so u know it will be good and it will work and it will be cheap

Toyota dealer wants CA$130.00 for a new coil.
Is this what you'd expect to pay for a ignition coil ?

Klue prob does have another one laying around. I just bought a 3sgte head from him lol

I have a 3S-FE head and have a coil coming on Monday to replace the bad coil within that head.
My other daughter's car has the round distributor head, different system, same car, same engine. Anyway I hope that with the replacement of the coil it will solve the problem. I also ordered a new rotor and gasket. I'm enjoying doing this and saving some dollars in the process.
I'll let you guys know how I did.

SUCCESS....It was the coil !
Engine is once again running wonderfully.

Thank you. It was a good experience for me and it all went back in place perfectly. Moment of truth came when I turned the key and the engine immediately started and ran perfectly.
