Canada New member, but got car problems...

Hey, hows it goin? im steve. I got a 91 celica gt-s. I am having some major issues with her, and i figured where better then on some celica forums to get some help! Alright... The other night, oh yeah... shes got an oil leak... its... well its an oil leak, so it sucks... anyway, the other night. i was driving her home, 4am, whatever, she started making a annoying... sucking sound, no other way to explain it. I pulled over, checked my air filter thing and whatever, got back in and started out again. I made it about 5-6 km and i was goin about 120km/h and i wanted to get home faster, i live in a country town so theres no traffic this early... so i gaver some more gas and nothing... she wouldnt accelerate at all... i was confused, so i shifted down into 4th, and she stalls! i dont know why, but i coasted for a while, then i started her back up again. She ran for... 30 seconds, but ran like absolute fucking shit, was loud and was surging forward alot... and it stalled out again and hasnt started again since. All it does now is when i turn her over, all the lights dim, and the starter makes loud clicking sounds. There is also clicking noises coming from the relay under the glove box on the passenger side... ive checked the battery, it still works fine... hit the starter with a hammer, nothing. Read some stuff in the haynes manual, says its most likely an electrical issue, but when we towed it home, me and a buddy tried to bomb start her down my driveway... the tires didnt even lock up when i let the clutch out when it was in gear, just kept rollin... everything points to either a siezed engine, or a lack of compression... aka blown motor.... so fuck... tell me, what should i do???

thanks for takin the time to read this btw haha

Re: New member, but got car problems...

Sounds like it either could be your alternator, or distributor.

Re: New member, but got car problems...

my distributor fried on me just a few days ago when i got to montreal from here (whitby/toronto) and when i tried to start it up again the next day (still in montreal) it wouldn't start. it would turn over and try to start, but wouldn't fire. Took the car to the local shop there and they said it was my distributor. if yours was making a clicking sound and the lights dimmed when u turn the key to start it, most likely is your alternator cause the same problem happened to me with my laser back in the day. and beleive it or not when i got the alternator replaced, after a few days the same thing happened again.... once again it was my alternator, yelled at the shop for this and they said the rebuilt alternator they put in was crappy, and they put in another for me free of charge. then it never happened again. as for your oil leak and the wheels not catching with the clutch when u tried to roll start it... i have no idea.
