Hey everyone!
hey whats up everbody! im lookin into buying a celcia 5 gen and i'v got a couple questions on what to do. (i'v got most of this info from these forums so good job you guys!)
-option 1 buy a st and swap in a 4age 20v <--- how much money would that cost (please list parts that i'll need) so i'll end up with 160 ish hp -option 2 but a st and swap in a 4age 16v <--- then should i just buy a gt? i mean dont they get similar hp? wich one is easier/ cheaper to mod. end up with 130ish hp -option 3 buy a st and swap in a 4agze! <--- i'v herd wiring is a total bitch! so how complicated would that be? so i'll end up with 150hp -option 4 buy a gt and start to mod it (i'll try to search the forums, but if you guys wana be nice ... how much does the average joe get from the thing and with what *price*) so i'd end up with "X" hp -option 5 buy a gt and swap in a 3sgte! <---- *:( *kinda scared of that one ... turbo reliablity issues and price! end up with 200-250 hp -option 6 buy a gt and swap in a 3sge! <-- havent herd much of this options so how much do these things make and how potent are these? end up with ? hp please feel free to add any other optoin except "go buy a gt4!" cuz there is none around here T______T. * and ...... After market support for the 4age 16v, 4age 20v, 4agze, 3sgte, 3sge. and what one is least complicated/ cheapest to do. and ...... if i was to have some fun what should i be thinkin bout? stoplight flings? or freeway pulls? whew! thanks everyone! (this should be stickied huh?) |

1991 GT-S + 3SGTE
the motor is the most compatible with the 5sfe setup and the swap can be done very easily assuming that you have a pair of wiring harnesess (one 5sfe, one 3sgte) and a good ecu from the 3sgte... the GE is pointless and all the 4a's are good motors in lighter cars but with the weight of the celi you will apreciate the extra power of the CT26

exactly what martin said. Although the 20v would be original, I have seen these motors been gettign upwards of 200hp but thatis with a bit more work done on the motor. Just get the 3sgte you will prob enjoy it more.

^ why? (sry only been researchin 5th gen so far) is it cuz of the looks? cuz if thats the reason why .... boy do i agree! 6th gen is my fav!!!!!!! but 5th gen looks tight too and it cost less so thast what im probably guna get.
ohh and how reliably is the 3sgte? i know its a toyota so its got be good, but what are some of the problems that most ppl come up with (like supra and headgasket) |
