1990 Celica GTS - Sell or Part Out?

Greetings,

I'm new here and am looking for advice. I'm looking to unload my Celica. It's a great car but it's due for costly repairs like:

Rad
Rear Shocks
Power Steering Leak
Cracked Windshield
Brakes (pads only)

That's what I know of plus it has some damage on the front left. I thought of selling for $1000 but I am wondering about parting it for engine, rims, some body, headlight motors. Interior is perfect.

The engine has 220,000km (I need to confirm) which runs great. A little blue smoke comes out at start but that's it.

I'm not a gear head and frankly don't have time to work on and don't want to pour money into. Any advice you vets can offer would be appreciated.

I'm in Aurora, north of Toronto.

I think $1000 is fair. It needs some TLC and some work but it runs well, is e-tested and may just need brakes to cert.

Selling is easier than parting and I don't know what I'd get.

blue smoke coming out the exhaust is not a good sign...its burning oil for sure...if you're gonna sell it for $1000..it might be tough especially if you have a bad head gasket....try parting it....you can get close to $1000 for it...and make sure you got tools to part it out or it will be a headache to pay someone to take the stuff out for you....i parted out a few cars so i know how it's like...but if you can sell the car as is...then you're better off with that...good luck...

i bought a 1991 eagle talon tsi this year for 1800

2 weeks later, it overheated on me and died

i parted the car in pieces and ended up with close to 2500

but that was in the summer when i could spend 1-2 hours every day disassembling it

if i were you, i'd just try to sell it as a whole. if you can do the brakes for under 200, selling it certified will net you a lot more
