overhead flip down monitor

I was wondering if there are overhead flip down monitors for cars? Just the monitor (no built in dvd player). I'm thinking of putting one in my car. If anybody knows of where i can find one, please let me know. thanx :D

I've seen one in a van, it was built into one of the overhead compartments, custom fitted of course, but it worked

I think you can buy them, but other than a local car audio/video shop I don't know what to suggest...

JR, do those ones have a built in dvd player? If i'm not mistaken (never had a van that had the dvd player in them), they have built in dvd players...correct me if i'm wrong.

Martin, I was lookin' at the visor ones..but i was looking for a flip down cause those are bigger..and also if there's someone in the back, they can see the screen better that way.

the ones that come stock have built in dvd players but this one was customized for the van...it had an indash dvd player or some shit, and then the monitor was mounted in one of the over head compartment thingy's (like the sunglass holders except a bigger one for god knows what actual purpose) that flip down. it wouldn't be what your looking for anyway. but it makes for a good idea

I'm sure you (or somebody) could rig something up with a little time, a little effort and a bit of an imagination...to work with an indash dvd player or the like.a good fabricater is the key

i've got a dvd player already in the car with a 6.5" screen. However, i was thinking of removing the top unit where the map light and sunroof controller is and relocating that and putting in a top mount flip down monitor there for passengers in the back seat. I've seen a 9" screen retro-fitted into that spot there before. but I'm looking for either 8" or 9". If you or anybody knows anybody who's selling one, please let me know..thanx :D

you can adjust the angle of the screen on the overhead. You just need to find one with both verticle and horizontal rotation.

i was originally thinking of the sunvisors one, but the overhead flip down can be bigger.

AK, I don't have people sitting in the back as is (i took out the seat belts so that i have an excuse to those who wanna sit in the back and just say that it's illegal to sit in the back while the car is moving, but for those times that i'm with my girl just chillin' in the back watching a movie or something, that's what i want the overhead flipdown monitor for.:D

why do you want anyone in your back seat anyways... unless you are driving something bigger to which case that is the cheap way out, they should have their own screen too...
