Interesting noise...

This is on a 92 Corolla LSX model (Canada)

This I do not believe is model specific, I think its either a problem with my wheel or my driveshaft

problem as follows:

when accelerating (in motion) I hear the engine rev higher and a pitter patter that speeds up as the revs raise

this noise is not there while revving in neutral

this noise is inot there while in neutral in motion

this noise exists in all 5 forward gears and reverse (yes its a manual)

So... possibilities? not being a great automotive wizard I thought it would be driveshaft on a whim as its my belief that it only turns when the car is in motion (correct?)

the other possibility is it has something to do with my wheels as I have just had new tires put on, but I'm putting this off as I don't hear it when accel or deceling in neutral (using big mofo hills)

I think you should be looking more towards a clutch or clutch related issue, because it is only making the sound when in a drive gear. If it was the drive shaft(which a '92 corolla doesn't have because it has a transaxle) it would do it in neutral as well, As with the wheels.
