Has been running for months http://www.celicatech.com/forums/sho...ighlight=5sfte http://www.celicatech.com/forums/sho...ighlight=5sfte Taken from this thread Todd Senior Member #411 Joined: Dec 2004 Location: Milford, DE/Blacksburg, VA Ride: 1992 Celica GT-T Trader Rating: (0) Posts: 194 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a year? pshhh, that is nothing. i installed mine in august 2004 and it is still running just like the day i put it on. ive gone around 13000 miles with no problems at all. i drive it pretty hard too (boost a lot). properly done, reliability should not be a concern. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ^^ taken from a post on celicatech http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?...pic=23187&st=0 http://www.celicatech.com/forums/sho...ighlight=5sfte http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t105924.html This thread list almost 5 or 6 guys that are running 5sfte or 5sgte, check the dates on the post running strong for yrs http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t46838.html http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t54459.html http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t52814.html After a search for 5sfte(must register) http://www.mr2oc.com/search.php?searchid=1093238 Great Info http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?...5sfte+complete

And fred has the right idea, I mean hes got 2 or 3 motors himself, mike has 2, and there are quite a few kicking at the wrecking yard you could pull it this weekend for $45 if its really an issue

so we had fun getting it out of the trunk of my van. Gian his boy my friend and I did it using tires stairs (3 tires to get to the bumper, twist and drop onto the next level with 2 tires, twist drop onto the tire you want it on). was fun
ok so at the shop i met the guy who did gian and his friends swap who also has a celica with the CS intercooler. He swapped a 2nd gen 3sgte into his 1st gen alltrac. and has done 2 3sgte ENGINE (not clip) swaps in 2 days each including wiring. I was offered a long standing offer to do the swap for 1300 with cleaning of the insides, wiring and intercooler piping (custom, they have all that shit in stock) by this guy at the shop, so 2000 for the swap intalledwith the missing parts, i think im pretty well off if I decide to go through with it later in the year. For now im keeping it in the garage and cleaning it. Maybe ill look for an ecu and a MAF sensor and decide then.

I assume you are being sarcastic...I sure as hell you are joking referring to +12psi as "insane amounts of boost", please tell me you are joking...you should've added a wink or something, becuz I am saddened that I do not know for sure if you were joking or not you will not be happy with 7 psi...well not for very long anyway. I'd recommend shooting yourself in the foot before you modify a car to only run at 7 psi before blowing it up. If you are going to spend the money, save and do it right!

I purchased that wiring afor myself (map/maf/ecu/harness) for 225 USD and asked mike about it before I did. If I can extend the wiring myself...then I may swap with stock everything. I did research on intercoolers and at stock boost front mount doesnt really do anything...boosting 7-9psi you technically dont even need the scoop so ill just drop it in (top mount IC is coming from mike)

ill be happay with stock boost for a long time (7-9 psi)...i ave never owned a turbo car or a faster car for that matter..ive been in tyrones car and gians car and at 7psi the cars pull hard...its nothing like the 5sfe. Im not gonna modify anything now except for maybe a blow off valve...which will just replace the diverter valve if i drop a cone filter on the turbo. All stock for me until I can actually afford to mod this engine...but now this is a pure economic purchase because if I cant do it...i'll just post it for sale with full wiring...
