is that 5sfe in general? piney knows someone who has never had an issue doing the same swap...i might be different but i c people on TN and friends of friends running it so i think its doable. and im not gonna be running over 150 hp all the time...i meen with the turbo as 7 psi i amexpecting 45% increase in power. So 120 at the wheel (maybe 110) stock so tops ill be at 170-180 at the wheel max which wont happen often. And im thinking that bearings are available if needed and wont put me out for more than a day or two. If i have anymore issues, I will take the turbo off and go back to stock...is the headgasket still cardboard on this martin?

from my observations, forced induction and the 5SFE do not mix well.
my suggestion would be to either go full 3SGTE swap, or else keep the 5SFE natural. |

i was going to do it cause i was going to blow it and i didn't care... you talk alot about having a students budget...i wouldn't fuck around

ahmed... don't take this the wrong way but you are in WAY over your head when you start talking about the 5SGTE there are soooo many issues that only money can solve and none of our wallets are that thick man.
if anything take the motor for the price and send it to a builder.. then save for the rest of the parts while you drive the 5s till you have everything you need... then once oyu have your collection together expect a 2 month swap.

I still have a 90 motor and a 92.
no matter what way you go your going run into issues. its all going to cost money.

i am not swapping lol...i was just thinking of a light turbo at low boost or pineys suggestion of a 5sgte. I have no experience turboing it so I was asking people before i grab 200 dollar engine and spend 200 on turbo parts...but hey, maybe ill just build something on the side like the 5sgte and drop it in with no rewiring as piney said...ill decide later..important thing is for 200 im gonna grab it.

here is what you really need to do. spend 200 and buy my extra 92 motor or $100 on the 90. have it in reserve.. boost the hell out of the 5s and see how long it lasts... what do you have to loose? $500 bucks

what you really need to do is spend 3000 and buy a clip and not pussy foot around if you have any intentions of having a fast fwd celica...

i am considering buying the 92 engine with 135 on it anyway cuz mine is older. But I think my space is limited to one fu;; engine at a time in my garage and even that is REALLY hard to fit.
