I FUNG A KIT? (looking for opinions)
ok so we all know i am ghetto and hate to pay for parts but i am going to be having my car repainted and it's got alot of problem areas to be more specific
-Fenders are aftermarket and have been dented and warped to a point where working them to be perfect would be an excercize in futility -front bumper was driven into previous owners garage door and scraped the bumper and cracked the bumper lense -side mirror cracked at edge durring same scrape -rear bumper support broken by someone sitting on it rear bumper mounting holes also torn. -minor rust on rear fenders so now that i am planing on painting her i am trying to fix all these issues before i go ahead and paint but i am also looking at aftermarket soloutions. -fenders stock delsol fenders are 170+ tax each from a parts source this is not honda parts but it's oem replacments. while online at torontocivics i found a pair of unused unpainted delsol fenders for $50 bucks picked up but they are z3 fenders. right now i am thinking i am just goign to pick them up and live with the vented fenders and my extra 290 dollar savings.... -front and rear bumpers i have located a buddy club front and rear for the car and he's asking 200 each or 350 for both peices but they are primed, blue class fiberglass and ready to install with no work done to them at all. they offer a weight savings and i really like the look of the rear when the center is blacked out and the rest is color matched picking up this kit would save me time and money on the front bumper seeing that they don't use bumper lenses and would require no body work to get them painted. the rear woudl still require a new support but the bumper it's self would be in mint contition and would allow for further cost savings on paint and body work. -side mirror i am buying a stock replacment cause htey are power and i don't want to give that up.' -minor rust i'll take care of that myself too. so i guess the options are really as follows z3 fenders $50 buddy club front and rear $350 mirror $60 rear bumper support $70 rust repairs $40 paint $600 (no body work required) ----------------------- $1170 modified delsol painted New Formula Red (slightly darker) stock fenders $340 Front bumper reapirs $120 (two hrs at 60per) rear bumper reapirs $120 (two hrs at 60per) bumper lense replacment 45$ mirror $60 rear bumper support $70 rust repairs $40 paint $600 (no body work required) ---------------------- $1395 stock delsol painted milano red WWJD? (what would joo do?)

do the first option, but with stock fenders. i don't know why you would even consider Z3 fenders, even if they were giving them away.

at that price it would be cheaper to buy them and have the vents filled in with new metal than the cost of the stock fenders.

honestly i could hate on them more if i saw them as hurting the car... but they dont kill performance in anyway at all... they serve thier purpose and don't retract from the reliability of the car at all...
i admit they are flashy but with my 300 bucks i could save icould easily go and grab some new underdrive pullies and an adjustable cam gear..bring up a few horses and move my power band to a more usable 4500-6500 range with my vtec controler adjusted to match. i am not saying i love them.. if money wasn't an issue iw ould stay stock.. but i got bills to pay and kids to feed

you're forgetting an important point: they are flamboyantly gay.
besides, whats so wrong with your current fenders that they must be fully replaced?

Would you honestly be happy walking up to your car and seeing Z3 fenders on it. I don't care if it costs an arm and a leg. Do it right the first time or you'll be disapointed. Did I use one of the crappy slave cylinders I had laying around or go buy a new one?? what about my rad I had extra's why did I buy a new one? Why did I buy the new strut mounts instead of just using the ones Reno gave me with the Koni's.
Why I don't want to be disapointed in the workmanship that went into my car... with z3 fenders I would be disapointed no matter how much you saved

ok so if that were the plan then would you say that a buddy club kit should be paired with buddy club rims (i am already using a buddy club v-con for managment)
these in hyper gold perhaps ![]()

for some reason i assumed that the buddy club kit was more subtle. the buddy club rims are nice though.

Martin I simply can't see you spending 1400 on restoring the body of the car and then actually spending money on rims as well. Actually I can't see you actually spending the 1400 on the body to begin with but hey can't wait to see it!
One thing though..... its still a del a sol.
