last year the miata was my beater and the year before that i was working on a 240sx... i hate going through tires in the summer so quickly and in the winter i can get a s13 to take an intire on ramp side ways or a miata to crab walk around like no buddies business with out wasting money on new rubber...

realisticaly rwd is the most fun all the time but in the winter it's more fun than ever as long as you arn't in a rush to get anywhere and you have no intention of "coloring in the lines" if you know what i mean...

as for myself i have only ever "owned" fwd cars so i have proabably honed my skills most on them so i find them boring..a dn 4wd is fun when it's predictable but that's not as often as 2wd cars...too many diffs leave too much to chance when you are in my price range. (if i had 3 actives ain a lan evo IV then i would doubt it woudl be unpredictable)

ic ic...but trust me when you have a daily driven RWD car in the winter (even with winter tires on) it is not fun on the days when it snows a lot or the roads are icey.

RWD, although if I had cash to spend on a beater and room to store it in the summer, Id probably go with FWD, or a 4x4 truck/suv.

AWD all yr round (but I'll stick with my RWD celi for my summer car still)

AWD is very easy to get used to, once you know what to expect...but the first snowfall with all seasons on still, and not knowing what to expect, and the back end kicks out like a RWD, catches ya off gaurd. But so much more control and stability all year round...
I'm really torn for summer tho, RWD is fun, but AWD still kicks ass for sticking in the corners

No need to discourage the FWDers, theres always Power Sliding for you folks. Turn the wheel, ram the gas, then yank the ebrake, watch her spin. Definetly not as much fun.
