4 point harnesses

I know there is a brand of harnesses that are street legal in ontario, but i dont know what the name is. Im hoping some one can help me, im plannin on gettin some new seats (sparco or momo) and im wanting to put 4 points in my 6th gen, but i wanna know where 2 get these street legal belts. I dont think the sparco sliders will accomidate the factory retainer. So if any one knows about these belts/knows where 2 get em, that would help alot. thanks

Valo

Damn Canadians. If its gonna hold you in the seat it should be legal. You are better off in a 4-5 poit than in a factory belt.

^no it doesn't why would having two restraining devices make sense. Unless theres a new law that states that 4/5 point harnesses are street legal, then its false.

http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/seatbelt.htm

"A typical seat belt assembly consists of a lap and shoulder belt. The shoulder belt should be worn as tightly as possible over the shoulder and across the chest. The lap belt should be firm against the body and low across the hips."

Racing Harnesses, do not support the hips, and are recommended for off road, and closed course use. I had a friend who got a ticket(don't know the specifics) for a harness. If the cop wants to be a dick, he can charge you with no seatbelt, since your not weraing the proper one, and its 2 demerit points and up to $500 in fines.

Racing harnesses are useless if your not racing. Plus not really practical for everyday use. Just keep your seatbelts the way they are, and use the money on some rims.

i meant that by taking the stock belt out your car is now illegal and will be taken off the road, but if you had the 4 point and left the stock one in then the car is still legal.

If you are not WEARING the correct seatbelt, it is a traffic violation and you will be awarded with a ticket consisting of 2 demerit points and a fine. The same as if you have the seatbelt in the car, but don't wear it.

I hope that clears things up for you
