tire dilemna
Get new 'used' tires now or wait til next spring for new rims/tires?
Here's the scenario...the tires on my stock 17" Matrix rims are bald as heck. So bald I refuse to drive on the hwy when it rains cuz I fear hydrolocking going above 60km. Dry conditions aren't a problem. I have two options at the moment. a) I have a killer deal on a barely used set of 215/50/17 Toyo T1-S. Used one season. Approx. 1000km. probably has 95% tread. b) Winter's near so just wait and maybe put the snow tires on a little earlier (maybe mid to end October) to get rid of my wet weather fear I have w/ the 17's. I plan on getting new 17x8's next year so I should just hold off. Plus the 215/50 won't fit too well on 17x8's so I'll end up selling the Toyos if I get them. The thing is I've got Nokian Hakka 1's and I don't wanna roll around them too early in the year w/o any snow. In any case, I'm leaning toward (b). Just need your feedback and opinions.
