Insurance: covering your A$$

when you have a different engine swapped into your car how does that work with the insurance company? Ie. whats the category is it under? still the same, do i get dropped?, or if i ever do get into an accident or they find out what does the insurance company do

Unless the car is more then 20 years old and classify as classic car, most insurance won't give you a policy if you swap in a different engine. In plain term, they'll drop you. If you got into accident, you'll have to pay for all damage. There is a few thing they'll have to pay but for sure your car is not part of it.

so it isnt true that the insurance will just cover you for the stock
engine of the car?

ps. i dunno how different insurance is in canada from us O_o

They'll cover NOTHING if you swap. If they're very nice, maybe. Or if they didn't even notice the different engine.

are you sure
what happends if your engine dies and u have to buy a new one

whatever about gruven he went through a couple gts motors didnt he?
im pretty sure he was insured
