Heres a kick in the pants

I was driving to work yesterday, travelling down Stouffville Road when BANG all this glass shoots all over me and my interior. I pull over and there is this golf ball sized indent in my glass and my entire windshield is cracked to shizzer, so I look at the golf course and there are these three guys looking at me. I pull into the golf course (which is Private, and the 2nd biggest in Canada... basically, you have to have more money than you know what to do with to play on it. *Spring Lakes*) and I find the guys, first they wouldn't admit to it then the one guy said yeah it was me, and then he jokingly makes a fool of me saying, hey did you get my ball back?? I wanted to punch him in his face. Anyways, he gives me his name/number and says he wants to go through insurance, I don't have comprehensive on my car so it wouldn't be covered, and when he hands me his business card he has like 4 BILLS laying around in his wallet!! Anyways, today I try to contact him and he won't answer the phone, and the strangest thing happens, a Bell Canada recorded message picks up and says the person i am calling is busy and to call again later..... yeah.... So I call the police and guess what, no charges can be pressed, it was an "accident" and is therefore not criminal.. basically, he can smash my window and laugh as I pay for it!!! WTF!!!

Have any of you guys went through this garbage? How was it solved.. i'm pretty pissed about it, and on his business card he is the owner of some Engineering company in Markham, and his buddie was the President of some insurance company... This is a classic North American "Rich stomping on the poor" scenario if you ask me.... Do I accidentally put a brick through his car/home/everything he owns windows tommorow night and then shrug and say, oh, can I have my brick back?

cana u talk to the golfcourse and see if they would cover it. They should have some sort of insurance for that stuff.

Small claims court, then ask for punitive damages if they allow you to.

Take him to court, if nothin happens there, Bye Bye Mercedes/BMW/Lexus whatever he drives, but tell him he can keep the brick, oh and leave the golf ball in a large yellow envelope with a letter reading, "Heres your ball back, sorry it took so long" :twisted:

chris, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! That is NOT cool!! The other day i was driving down 48 from bathesda (passed ur house, celi was home) and i was doing about 120, then when i came to the lights at stouffville road to go to petro to visit the cool gas station guys (HAHA! The old dirty man george, who ALWAYS stares at my chest...u know who iom talkin about) a golf ball flew right infront of me, if i was still going at 120 it would have hit me, but by this time i was doing about 90....probably the same guys..
i saw we go find these losers and cause some sh*t sometime soon......if ur going, i'm in...call me!
(p.s. when you left work you said that celica drivers stick together, and i havent seen you call me to cruise ONCE!! I ALWAYS call you.......)

I'm pretty sure that the golf course itself is liable for damaged caused. Try talking to them.

I'd go for the golf course too. If they don't budge, tell em you'll take your case to the media. (Silverman Helps-CityTV).

I'm sure they don't want bad press.

Seen that shite happen lots...ain't worth it to start war. I'd try the small claims court thing first and if that doesn't work, then decide on starting your war!

it was all good in the end, he came through like a week later after I called NUMEROUS times and I got my celi fixed, plus a rental car for 2 days while they were fixing it (2004 Pontiac Grand Am fully loaded... Auto)
And Becki, i'll ring ya up soon for sure, ive been busy ;)
