Windows

My girl has a 01 Protege, she has two kids whom are very young, but she has wind down windows.

I noticed today that her rear windows, go ALL the way down, they don't stop 60% down.

How can I make it so her windows stop 60% down?

Alternatively, how difficult would it be for me to swap out all four doors and install 4 with power windows, what else will I need besides the controller unit?

Thanks

Re: Windows

get creative and weld in a piece of metal that won't allow the windows to go down any furthur than you want them too...I dunno, but I'm sure you could do something like that...

As for swapping out to have power windows...it sounds like one of those projects of turning a 2wd celica into a 4wd celica...cost just wouldn't be worth it, I could imagine. (ie. you could probably sell the current and buy a similar 01 Protege w/ power windows as it would cost to switch over on the current).

Re: Windows

Thats roughly what I found, but its not cost, theres something about removing the dash, the AC compressor and a few other things.... to get to the relays

I'm worried with welding something in that when the window comes down hard it'll go smashy :|

Re: Windows

Bolt a piece of plastic to stop the glass. If the kids can crank it down fast enough to break the glass, you can't lock them up anyway.

Re: Windows

HAHAHA Piney, you usually give me a good laugh in most of your posts.

I'll give the plastic a go, I'm scared of the metal as if its welded in such a way it could shatter the glass

at least plastic will absorb the energy from the hit
