Your experiences in trading in a leased car for another mode

I currently lease my '03 Celica GT. I'm on a 3 year lease with a year to go. I want to either move into an IS300, WRX STI, or a S80T Volvo. What are your expierences with breaking your lease and buying another car. Does the dealership your buying the new car from payout the remaining lease? Or do you take a bath with all the penalties, etc??

TIA

leasebusters worked for me...dealerships however, will give pay you whatever the wholesale value of your car is and expect you to pay the remainder of the buy out price...or they will just incorporate it into the price of the new car.

generally speaking your buyout option is less then the value of the new car
so they give you a certain price

so they give you $20,000
you have $18,000 on your car
you know have $2000 to take cash or roll into a downpayment

works opposite if you owe more then they are giving you
they can buyout the lease then add 2000 to your new car payment whether it be the down payment or spreaded over the monthly payments

in most cases they are going to buy the lease out for you
so they do the paper work and bs and you just have to worry about the money
and then new car agreement

Most dealer will add a few hundreds or thousands before they work out monthly payment. Its hard to tell unless you know how to work out interest.

I put a big down payment on it, and am almost 2/3 over on my lease. Hopefully, I won't get dinged too much if I go to a lexus.
