A buddy of mine @ work has this done on his 7th gen Celica. Looks good. He paid $500.00 CAD to have it all done incl. having the whole door completely repainted.
I don't mind the door handles so much on our car because they sit flush with the door already. It's when they stick out from the door that they are usually in the need of being removed. Another thing. I'd only get this done if it's a summer drive car only. If your doors freeze in the winter, you now have no handles to grab on to give them a bit of force open.

Scotty, when your friend got them shaved, did the bodyshop weld metal over the door handle opening, or did them just use some kind of body filler?

I am pretty sure they they just used body filler to cover in the hole, but I could be mistaken. Here is the only photo I have of his car and you can kinda see from the pic the shaved handle. ![]() His name is Don and his email address is dheseltine@hotmail.com if anyone has any further questions who is looking to get this done.
