taking the spoiler off

i have been thinking about taking off my spoiler for a little while. is that something id definatly have to get done or is it a possible do it yourself? im not sure if im ready to commit but i think i want to

u can physically take it off yourself
but to fill the holes in your trunk is probably a professional job

i just read that taking the spoiler can be bad like if your making turns or something on icy roads and shit. . can it reallly have that big of an impact? also since it has a break light on it, by taking it off do you think it wlil affect my insurance?

i have the same problem, i wanted to remove mine, but with all the wiring it wont be easy.

there should be, i was in the process of doing it, but just a mix up in there, i didnt want to damage anything.

I tried taking mine off, just too see how it would look. I got 4 or 6 bolts off(can't remember), but it still wouldn't come off. Is the TRD wing taped down, or did I just miss some bolts?

Even if you manage to get the damn thing off, patching the holes will set you back a lot of money, that has to be done professionally, i used to work ina body shop and saw many a celica and eclipse come in with damage from removing a stock or even after market spoiler, not a good idea, i would just leave it on. You risk damaging your car, and sometimes, if your insurance finds out they can report it as a loss and thats not good if you ever decide to sell your car. :(
