THE NEW 200? CELICA called Toyota FT-HS

http://www.celispeed.com/photos/show...to/1955/cat/16

Check Out what i found!! Are you as excited as i am

Ok, from what I understand this car will have a slightly different name, but will be the next generation celica... The car will be available in 2 different specs, the gt and gt-4 only... The gt will be rear wheel drive and have a boxter engine as of now, and the gt-4 will have a 300hp 2.0 liter motor from subaru and will be equipped with 4 wheel mounted electric motors, and it looks sweet...

Re: THE NEW 200? CELICA called Toyota FT-HS

guess im too late, but from what i understand its the celica replacement, because the body is loosly styled on the 7th gen and the gt-four series, and toyota might enter the wrc series with that car...

Re: THE NEW 200? CELICA called Toyota FT-HS

I heard the gt-4 model was supposed to be turbo/all wheel drive...basically taking the engine out of the sti?

On another note, the FT-HS was originally supposed to be the hybrid, spiritual successor to the Supra (inline six-cylinder + wheel-mounted hybrid drivetrain). If they did end up going through with the FT-HS, it's because the Nissa GT-R is wiping the floor with the Lexus SC430 (which is a MKIV Supra in Lexus badges) in the Japanese Pro Circuit ring. That's why it would also come in a "GT4" spec, since it would be a direct competitor with the new GT-R (hence, it is *probably* not the new Celica).
