Celica Models

Hi. I've been a fan of celicas since I saw the 70s fastbacks when I was like 8. Anyway Ive aleays wanted either a 77 Fastback celica or 85 RWD celica and Im going to be buying a new car in a few weeks. The problem is I keep reading that these cars are crap compared to the 86-89 model. So I was wondering if I could get some input from people who've driven both cars. Thanks.

I had an 85 celica gts for three years. Not much power but reliable and lots of fun.
I would go for the rear wheel drive vs the front in the 86 on.

I have an 86' that I bought for 500 bucks. Great car for the price. Only had 127,000 miles on it. I'd go with the rear wheel 85 as well. Look out for electrical problems though.
