More boost
The other treat I'm considering is a new turbo setup for the halftrac.
Currently the motor is being rebuilt to withstand more boost. Parts currently going on are arp head bolts, cosmetic headgasket, Ats axel races/cages, TRD thermostat, 3rd gen cams, 3" downpipe. The two turbos I'm looking at are the ct20b or an Ats tdo6 setup. The more I start to realize what I want my overall power goals to be. The more I feel I'll be satisfied with 300hp, because in all honesty anything more then 300hp is a waist of time on the stock ecu, and I'm not ready to drop upwards of 1000 on a standalone. Now to really benefit from either of these setups I will need to address fuel & timing right away, but I've been told that the td06 would flow extremely well upto 13psi, and give me 300hp without any other mods. Anything higher and I run the risk of leaning out the motor, and then bang. The ct20b is not a much cheaper solution, and will not flow even close to the potential of the td06 without supporting mods. But is very capable of allowing me to hit 300 with supporting mods bringing me back to around the same cost of the tdo6 setup. Coles notes: TD06 will cost more, need more, but leaves plenty of room to grow. CT20B will cost less, need less, is nearly a bolt up, but will require more mods to get it to what a basic setup on the tdo6 with no room to grow.

Re: 2nd part of treating myself
yeah even if you make her a beast she is still gonna be a primered car that doesnt look finshed, aesthetics are important to a certain extent.

Re: 2nd part of treating myself
Actually I don't even know about paint right now. It really depends on which shell I use. The primered one needs paint & suspension totalling about 3-5 grand on the high side of things. The silver one needs a motor, and about $400 in rust repair. Another $300 on top of that and I can get the paint touched up on the whole car.
I'm just going to finish the motor then decide from there.
