engine light came on

hey guys

i have a 2000 celica auto/tiptronic(no mods) and the engine light popped up while i was driving yeterday and i noticed some disturbing differences.

tiptronic/ manual mode dont work
speedo not working
doesnt show gear changing on display
cruze control not working

and i think thats about it, it all happened at once.
the car still drives well in auto mode, just dont know how fast i'm goin.

has this happened to anyone?
can anyone tell me whats goin on with my car....??

wow that sounds like a lot going wrong at once...sounds like a problem with your electrical system. Wire harness somewhere could be fried. I would get it in to a dealer though.

has anyone heard of this problem?

hi guys, fixed it last nite, just playing around with the fuses and started to see some action on the dash. so its working fine now.... dont have to change the speed sensor after all. i already had quotes to fix which was gonna be roughly au$ 600.
goes to show how some mechanics try to make a bit extra......
