Exclamation Help! My '93 Celica GT keeps dying

So I think the problem is at the battery terminal. Not every time, but it's getting to be more and more often that when I go to start my car, it's completely dead. I've tested the battery and it seems alright. My car has died while running also. I've slowed down to a stop, then it just completely dies, no power anywhere. Sometimes it will simply start after turning the keys a few times (I think I'm just getting lucky that way). Other (most) times I have to get out and kind of shake the positive battery cable, then it starts. Very frustrating! I've checked the connection at the battery terminal, taken it apart, cleaned it, even used some coke on it.

Another problem I've been having is my radio died. That is it stopped working, along with my dome lights, my clock, and my door lights. The lights in the dash still work, along with the cig lighter. The cruise control is also shot. Obviously these latter problems are minimal compared to the car not starting, but if anyone has any suggestions for anything, I'd really appreciate it!! Feel free to shoot me an email at luecke.ryan@gmail.com

MUCH THANKS!!

If your battery still seems fine after car is dead, then it is not your alternator, and when you shake the positive batter terminal and sometimes it works ? that kind a answers the question. It might be the connection.

I am not sure if this will help to solve your question, but try to remove the terminal and clean good. Best way to clean is to buy spray cleaner (connector cleaner) or sand down little bit to get beeter contact between termial and the wire. You also can check the resistance between terminal and the wire so that you can see if there are good contact or not.
