Re: S2000 or 350z??

both would be alot of fun-but the Z would be my choice-but i am biased-i have fond memories of a friend's 240z when they first came out-we would take it out when it rained and do a form of drifting-but it was not called that-rear wheel drive has it's advantages

Re: S2000 or 350z??

Thanks for your input. I really thought that the parts for both cars would be in the same range.

I really didn't care much for the interior, although I did find the S2000's interior a little dull and boring.

Test drive is tomorrow so I will find out how both cars really handle and drive, I just hope that it doesn't snow tonight.

The 350Z is more drivable everyday. Lots of torque, but a heavy feel to it when cornering. Powerful but a somewhat boring powerband.

Shifter and tranny...s2k hands down. S2k is like butter. 350 is notchy and rough...but sort of goes along with the feeling of the car (a lot of feedback to the shifter).

Both have pretty boring interiors IMO. The 02+ s2k with the glass rear window would be my first choice if you are going for that. An 04+ 350 has far less rattles then the 03 model.

Personally I like the looks of a 350 a little better but that is subjective. Also the 350 is getting redone soon so I wouldn't want an old model vehicle. Not sure about the s2k but I have not heard anything.

Oh one more thing about the 350Z...parts are insanely expensive, and even if you want to drop it an inch or so you are looking at replacing front and rear camber arms/toe bolts...it can get very expensive.

Re: S2000 or 350z??

i change my mind. S2000. i forgot how fun the experience was on good driving roads, and like Chris mentioned, the amazing tranny. the engine is bulletproof so you can rev it all day, and the sound of VTEC is like orgasm on a nice summer day around dusk, or on a colorful autumn day driving a nice scenic route. the room for the passenger is my biggest gripe with the S. you may want to think twice if you plan to frequently have anyone over 6-feet tall as your passenger. other than that, it's solid. i wasn't aware how expensive 350Z parts are, or the "disconnected" feeling from the road, but I can imagine what Chris is talking about, especially when you consider the weight of the 350Z, and all of it's creature comforts. the S2000, although also having many luxury features, is more of a driver's car.

Re: S2000 or 350z??

s2k is a nice car...it rides well..my brother used to have one, he traded it in for a M5...but if i were to choose one, i would go with the s2k, too many 350zs out there
