Broken Crank Pulley

So the crank pulley on my car is broken.

I have a spare pulley in my parts car but I don't have air tools which are needed to loosen it.
I'm pretty sure that it can't be open in any other way.

So, would some one with a compressor and an impact gun be willing to either lend me their tools or just come down to my place with their tools and just loosen it.
I'll pay you for your efforts.

Re: Broken Crank Pulley

the crank pulley can be taken off without air tools. Its easier if the tranny is still attached to the motor but what you do is
get your half inch socket out with a breaker bar attached. I mean a HUGE one. (mine was around 4 feet long) and give her a good yank and you should be able to get her. air tools make it much easier though.

Re: Broken Crank Pulley

I gave it a shot this evening...my alternator and alternator belt were already off and I tried to loosen the crank pulley but it was moving too easily.
I'm thinking of putting the alternator back on with the belt so that it would tighten the pulley up a bit and would prevent it from rotating freely. Maybe then there will be enough resistance and it can be yanked out.
