My CT26 Has Some Shaft Play...

Shaft play isnt toooo much, but id rather fix the problem before or incase it gets worse... Can I just buy and replace the ceramic bearings to fix this problem? does anyone know how much they cost or where i could get them? im guessing toyota, but anyones input is appreciated thanks!

Re: My CT26 Has Some Shaft Play...

A bit of shaft play is ok. Don't forget that its a bushing turbo, When the engine is running, the ''shaft'' isn't touching the bushings, its floating in a thin oil coat.

Don't fix a CT26.

Replace it. They are dirt cheap.

However, they are still stone aged turbos.

get a CT20 and bolt it on.

I would personally swap for a GT28RS. Great all-round turbo!

For cheaper, a regular T3T4 will do.

Those turbos will also allow you to develop more power if you want to later.

And trust me, 8 pounds at 6k rpm on a ct26 isn't the same thing at all as on a gt28rs.

''fixed''
