starter problem... famous problem or wire?

hi my starter do this just when he want and sometimes after 2min of drivind and sometime when 2hour....he wont start but today he did it my friends was trying to start it and me i was hitting the starter and after2min whitout nothing beside the (clik)of the starter its just stop cliking and after like everytime finally hes trying to start like crazy and wont stop for 10second and after the car start....a month ago samething but before start he did a lot of click like 1 a minute....so did its the starter or i need to put a relay and verify if enough volt are comming from the wire....and if its the starter what better is to do ans is it possible to rebuilt a starter?for a new one which one u recommend and did oen from 90-93st185 are the only one that fit?...thx a lot everyone and if someone know how to know if my engine are a 90/91/92/93???its a jdm thx
ps:it wont start on compressions also...
