To keep or to sell?

So I've been thinking of either keeping or selling the Celica.

Here are my options.

Sell the Celica, spend another 10-12k to buy another car. Which car??

or

Keep the Celica and build the shit out of the engine for another 5-6k.

Here's what I plan to do this winter if I keep the Celica:
Fully rebuild engine
Forged Pistons
Forged Rods
ARP Studs
Ported Exhaust
CT20B or a StreetBrawler kit from ATS good up to 25psi I believe
HKS Head Gasket
Walbro Fuel Pump
Greddy E-manage
Supra Injectors
Modified Fuel Rail
HKS Ultralight Flywheel
MR2 LSD Tranny
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch
ATS modified MR2 axels.

That should bring the Celica at 300whp up to 450whp but I probably will just stick to low boost with that set up. Celica will not be a daily driver if I keep it. It will strictly be a weekend/track car.

The body was reinforced when I got the paint job and plannin on putting a rollcage on it so there is no issue on the body at all.

Very tempting.

hmmmm... interesting dilema. a track car would be nice but what other cars are you looking at.

How i look at it is...you've already done the swap so u kinda have to go through with it...its not like u can sell now and get what u would like for the car...unless u want to cut ur loses and sell for just swap money...i'm goin through the same state of thought right now also, i really want a h22a civic but am i gonna get a reasonable price for mine? but think how unique the car will be fully modded...but to get there has $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ written all over it

as for the next car, it doesn't really matter. I can budget up to 30k for a next car but really don't want to spend that much. I'm thinking of just throwing that 5-6k on the celica and keep the rest for a down payment for a house or condo.

I can also import a car down but I dont really know how reliable they will be. I don't want to spend 15-20k on a car not knowing their conditions.

well as long as u have the funds and time then keep the celi man...urs looks good already with that paint job just a few spots to have fixed (was it the hood that had a flint) and u had all the cancer fixed so ur body is good u just have to mod the shyt out of the motor...are u thinking of hks cams aslo?

my winter project is;
-Hks 272 cams
-Adjustable cam gears
-front mount IC
-3" front-back exaust
-800cc injectorse

maybe upgrade a thing or two here and there but then i have to focus on my body
-Getting some new floor boards under the driver seat
-Rear left Quarter panel
-Paint job with a bit more flakes than what i have

no..i dont think I will be changing the cams at all..I don't wanna fuck around with that yet..but who knows..

i'd sell the celica. you have a daily driver with the truck, so you can use the celica money for responsible investments.

I will upgrade the turbo sometime in the spring or summer...i want to see how it pulls with the stock turbo after the winter additions (12-14psi)...looking at the T4/60-1 system,or T04E for the right price...the fuel pump i upgraded with the swap...with the turbo upgrade i will most likly be goin standalone or piggyback for short term...

HKS Head Gasket - cometic is better
Walbro Fuel Pump - supra tt is better
Greddy E-manage - hydra
Supra Injectors - 550's are useless if your doing over 19
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch -dont get an organic disk, or use there supplied t/o bearing

wht about you coolieboi what r your power goals?
btw, you still have my coilpack, reistorpack, and rad sensor

in that case, i'd still sell the celica. especially if you are okay to spend another 10-12k on top of what you get for it. i'm guessing you could get at least 8k for your celi, so add that to 10-12 and you have enough to get you a serious weekend track car... type-r, rx-7, skyline, etc.

im looking more into drag than circuit. I'm looking into getting the most power the quickest way as well.

Skyline and RX7 are my options but I'm skeptical about it. It might be hard getting parts for the skyline even with just the small parts such as ball joints, bushings, etc. and I heard a lot of bad things about the RX7 and we all know how hard it is to get parts for them. Let me know if you know any Skyline owners and what they think about it so far in terms of parts availability, cost for repair and such.

Another option that I might consider is the Mitsubishi GTO. It's the same as the 3000gt here but I will need to research more about that car.

Gian: The gto is sexy and fast too...we had one in guyana that my uncle imported from japan that thing can run man...
