2001 GT - Rattling noise when acclerates

Hello everyone!

I have a problem with my 2001 Celica GT. Everytime I try to acclerates I get a "rattling" noice.
I do not have any problem with the exost system, I put the car in neutral and try to close the exost hole with my hand and I could feel the pressure.

It only happens when I try to change gears and acclerates. I have almost put 130K on it.

Please advice me with any information. I know if I got to the dealer they going to suck all the money out of me! Please help!

heatsheild for cat converter? my friends integra had that problem it was loose and just shaking around... i dont know if the celicas had those or not though, but im guessing they did.

Thanks g5gt, I am going to take it to a mechanic tomorrow and findout what the problem is...

Did you recently put in a CAI? Or any other modifications?

Gents, this has come up before. My 2000 GT also displays this behaviour. It only happens when the engine is under load (acclerating or working hard, usually less than 4k rpm) Concensus is the heatshield for the exhaust manifold. i just live with it. fwiw.

something to do with a worn out clutch maybe??
