Hey
If you really really want perfomance with a CAI you might want to look into an INJEN or AEM but.. prices range from 200 to 300 bucks.. but like me. until i can afford one. i bought one from ebay. it is good and i can feel and hear more power. but it was a bitch to install being the pipe is about an inch wider in diameter. it was suppose to fit. but it didnt seem to.. so i had to move a few things around and actually cut a few inches of the pipe off for the filter to fit under the ingine. but hey it works nicely. ebay is risky. but you can trust the parts 80 percent of the time |

Do you drive a GT or GTS? I can get a CAI for a GT, an AEM with a blue finish, and I'll even give it to you for real cheap like I'm talking between $50-$100 + shipping. It's not a fake, or a rip off, its an actual AEM. The only thing you might want to know is the celi I am getting this from was in an accident, no mechanical damages or damage to the engine bay, he rolled his car and the rear end was pretty beat up.

It's a mod he came up with. The CAI diameter is 3 inches and our stock air pipe diamter is 2.5". Our MAFS (Mass Air Flow Sensor) is set for factory standards of 2.5" so during the first 1-1.5K RPM's or so, you will notice a bogging with the CAI. So he took the CAI and part of the OEM intake pipe and came up with a hybrid to incorporate the factory pipe diameter for proper MAFS readings.
Correct me if I'm wrong... |

you are wrong... or more importantly he is...
the simple fact is that na motors work on a simple suck, squish, bang blow theroy. the suck is all you need to know. the more air that is avalible at the bottle neck the better. matching the diameters has nothing to do with pressue and avalible molocules and the flow up to the throttle body is always hitting a bottle neck at the butterfly plate anyways. the goal of a cai isn't to allow for better flow into the motor... it's to provide the tb with as much air as possible to suck from at it's mouth.
