Corolla 1ZZ = Celica 1ZZ/2ZZ?
looks like i threw a rod, and there's a gaping hole in my block, which is suprising, since i've got a mere 112km on a '00 corolla.
i'm looking into finding another 1ZZ-FE to put in, but i was wondering, are there many variants when it comes to the Corolla 1ZZ's mounting, compared to the Celica's? and would a 2ZZ even be in consideration? i figured, since the engine's out, i might as well look at the engine possibilities i can put in the car, with relative ease. also wondering, reading through some threads here, it seems alot of GT have been experiencing abnormal oil consumption, and looked into warranty coverage. how did you guys go about that, and how did you convince Toyota to lend a hand? not sure if the car is still covered, since it's an '00 at 112km. maybe there's a hidden recall i'm unaware of? thanks in advanced guys, ches

sorry about that chester. I've asked a few of my friends who have their own shops and such and no luck with the 1zz or 2zz engines yet. If you read the sticky on 1zz to 2zz engine swap, there may be a bit of help there. But I personally think your best bet is to stick with the 1zz-FE engine. Just cause it will be a direct bolt on swap.
cheers, dan |
