New mod, TRD bumper mesh.

When I put the foglights in the outer holes on my TRD bumper, I removed the stock ones. This left 2 holes so I filled them with some mesh. It's a small mod but nowadays other than a header, all that's left are the details, since I'm probably not going to go too crazy with strut bars, ICE, etc. :D

Ugly hole

Noticed a bit of yellow showing through so a couple quick shots of flat black to clean things up.

Measure twice cut once. Cut the mesh to size.

Bent it into shape with some folding pliers.

Some masking tape to hold it in place.

I often talk about "Goop Automotive" this is what it looks like, FYI.

Gooped up. You can see the brackets I made for my underbody plastics.

A couple shots of the finished mod. :D

Nice and clean. No more holes!

Are the openings the exact same size in the Foliatec grille as the grille that comes on the TRD Mechanical? I picked up a sheet as well very similar and haven't installed it yet. The design is identical to that of the TRD grille however the gaps/spaces are much smaller.

when I measured it out, I gave myself about 2" all the way around. I actually traced the piece I cut out so I could post that later, once I scan it and clean it up. I might do that tonight or tomorrow, then I'll post it and you can just trace it & cut it out.

As for the mesh size. The person I bought the kit off of had replaced the mesh with this stuff all the way around so it's the same.

I was actually going to ask if you if there is a way you can provide me with the exact measurements I need to cut my grille sheet - that is awesome!

If you can email that so I can trace it that'd be great.

scotty01@primus.ca

As far as replacing everything on mine I don't want to do that - I think this will look pretty damn close anyways since it is the same design as the remainder of the grille and it's all black.

BTW do you think that the guy who you bought the kit from still might have the grille kicking around that came off of the bumper originally?

If I could get my hands on that I'd even prefer that for an exact match! :D

Here's a link to the scan I made of the pattern I used. I cleaned it up from the tracing I did of the cut piece.

I don't think he has it. I remember I asked when I bought it and he said he had replaced it and wasn't sure where it was. He no longer has a celica.

Should I be able to print that out in it's original size on a 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper?

it should fit. I traced the original onto an 8.5 X 11 and the very bottom tip just didn't make it, about the last inch on the bottom. but the rest did.
