new car??

ok here's the dillio...i have a '93 GT coupe and i made it a show car...(4 audiobahn subs, 4800W audiobahn amp, dvd player, race seats, rims, kit, paint...ext.) and i want to sell it...and put a down payment (or total payment) on a new (2000+) celica...i am almost sure i want a GTS but is it worth it to get that over a GT...whats the major differences...in HP at all? price? coolness? bitches like either more?

Any help info is super helpful!! thanks hommies!

yea i was on this site a while ago...i wanted to put the 3s-gte in my gt coupe celi and i asked about trans, exhaust and this and that...i just said screw it...and keep in mind im 17 and have NO idea how to turbo ANYTHING and i don't feel like getting into a huge mess of a project...so with that in mind...whats the down low on the GT and GTS, HP wise and trans and sex appeal....all the good stuff

GT is 140HP
GTS is 180HP, at extreme revs though...

If you want my two cents....

Keep your car, do the engine swap, and some tasteful exterior stuff. 7th gens are a dime a dozen. Nice looking 5th gens... are becoming few and far between.

go seventh gen man, newer car... Also make sure its the GT-S. GT is a fucking slow ass car, GT-S is a completly different engine with 180 Crank hp (rated at that) and 13- torque. It has variable valve timing WITH lift anda 6 speed tranny...U also get those fog lights in the front and projectors (some years GT did have projectors). After market parts are going down in price nowadays for em too, so modding will be cheaper. Best of luck but seventh gens are beautiful cars inside and out.

alright...thanks everyone! i love my 5th gen...but i do think its time for a new car...now all i gotta do is find me a 7th gen GTS with pretty low miles thats not an arm and a leg...

Depends on a lot of things, but you should be able to find a pretty much perfect low mileage one for under $12k with a bit of looking. $14k seems to be about average from the dealer for one with under 40k miles, and in perfect condition.
