dual exhaust

Hey everyone.....
This site is wonderland for me... well now that I have internet..hehe.. Anyways.
I have a 2002 Celica GT stock nothing changed i would like to get some more power out of it... so i think I’m ordering a cold air intake... I’m going with the injen RD (if you know a better one for that car let me know).. my next step is dual exhaust..well i'm not sure that’s why I want to ask you guys how to go about it? Anything would help I’m really new to this stuff so.... you know...

THANKS

go AEM for a gt for the intake, injen is better for the GTS. "supposedly"

as for dual exhaust save your money it'd be custom and usless, go with TRD or something like that for exhaust

just keep in mind its not going to be a retardly fast car, if you dont wanna turbo then do the basics, you can upgrade, headers intak and exhaust, flywheel, clutch, then get a PFC or somehting like that to tune it better, if your into it add Nitrous

CP. the best mods for the GT are intake and exhaust. Getting a cold air unit and the axle-back are about as good as u can du. LF is right on with his description about not expecting too much for power. These cars are not about that. They are all about handlng and fun though. Along with very good fuel economy. LF is also right on with stating dual exhaust is useless for these vehicles.
Cannot speak about AEM or other intakes. I have a K&N short ram. Very happy with it, though it will NOT give the same HP compared to a CAI. For exhaust have a Rod Millen. Louder than TRD, but I love it. Five years old and still good. fwiw, enjoy your Celi!

ya painting them makes it look nicer, GTS will give you a bit more power but for what? more expensive gas purchases, the GT is a head turner still and handles like a dream, unless you go to the track then you cant go wrong with a celica

I installed my AEM CAI in a couple of hours in my tiny garage, as long as you have some basic tools and knowledge you can do it

not even just a 7th gen celi, but for the love of god do NOT put a dual exhaust on a 4 banger...the only need for anything big(3inch) would be if you ALREADY have it turboed..assuming you don't then just either stay stock or keep it close to it. NA engines work more so off backpressure and if you were to have 3inch exhuast w/o a turbo the exhuast wouldn't really move that well and just sit in it sucking power because power IS more air in and most possible exhuast out.

Unless you have a show car it will be a waste of money and minimal gains. I find it funny when people drive 4 cylinders with dual exhaust. And you can't have a true dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder anyways. It's purely asthetics...

i agree with Hwanger true dual on a 4 cyl robs your exhaust of it scavenge effect. however you can run a useable duel exhaust IF you turbo the car and use a external wastegate. and the run a seperate pipe for the wastegate bybass. ads a little more weight in pipe but at least both tips would work.

Yeah, duals are pointless. They just add more weight. What car are you getting?
