i know i know beating a dead horse BUT

im just checking for opinions on a nice beefy sounding exhaust, ive been thinking TRD for a long time now but just wondering if theres any exhaust that gives the celica a little rumble

I finally slapped an exhaust on last month. Bought the Japanese brand Invidia exhaust. Let me tell you, it is awesome. A lot lighter than stock (12lbs i think) and great gains with a nice throaty sound. It comes with a silencer too that makes it sound close to stock. I alternate with silencer in and out for trips and what not. I highly recommend it.

if you're looking for good sound, don't get greddy. its like completely silent. greddy does give pretty good performance, but theres no sound, and i regret getting it. im tempted to sell it and buy a cheaper, better sounding exhaust.

oh and, i heard a sound clip of the invidia, its pretty deep, not a whiny annoying sound.

If you want a nice deep tone, get a Mustang GT and put in an offroad X-pipe with flowmasters. I had that set up and it's the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard. 4 cyl really sound gay in comparison. But to answer your question I would say it's in between. I'll try to make a sound clip and send it to you.

Later

Whit

Go with TRD

I have the TRD on my car as well as an AEM CAI. The two matched together make for an awesome combination, both sound and performance. You will always get looks when they hear you coming at high rpm's.

I've got a RMM SS exhaust, highly recommended sounds alot better than TRD IMHO, similar gains but just a tad heavier. Could be worth a look.

Do a custom exhaust. Have a shop weld a straight pipe in place of the cat, a couple resonators, and a side exit. Won't be too much money, and it'll sound like nothing else on the road.

Thumbs up

LF, I'm with Seven on this one. Have a Rod Millen Motorsport (RMM). It's been on for five years and has handled Ontario salt roads with aplomb. It sounds louder than the TRD, but, also like Seven, IMHO sounds better. Very subjective item here, you need to hear for yourself. PM to you.
Dave.

first- need a catalytic convertor- without its illegal
second- side exits illegal,
third that would be a kick ass system lol

Move to Indiana. No inspections. Side exit, no cat, no problem.
