Performance chip

Alright so I'm still looking for some peformance thing to do to my car, except of turboing it (not enough money). So, I was looking at a performance computer chip-engine control. I looked at the one on NOPI, but it said something about a turbo and i didnt know if it was meant for a celica with a turbo or not. Does anyone have this chip, and if so do you like it, would you buy it again, how much did it cost to ship it to JET to get it soldered, etc? Also, does anyone know where I might look at other computer chips, other than ebay?

DO NOT BUY THIS BS CHIP, IT JUST TRCIKS YOUR ENGINE INTO USING MORE GAS AND FUCKING UP YUR EMISSIONS AND POSSIBLY LEAVING DEPOSITS IN YOUR ENGINE LATER. Basically its a resistor that trickes the car into thinking it has too much air and sends more fuel in. U want performance, just go for the standard, Intake/Headers/Exhaust.

Alright well you definately shot down that option...i have a full exhaust, but I'm not sure if I want to get an intake or not, just b/c I want to try and turbo my car and the intake would then just be a waste of money. Do you have any other suggestions of fairly cheap things i could do to make my car a little faster?

if you want a better overall feel, get a short shifter and enjoy it until the time for your turbo comes. Do you have a GT or a GT-S?

remap the ECU if you want to free up the horsepower, do not use the chip

Arabian_Knight, for your info, I think you have the Jet ECU in your car. Jet-Chip does reprogram if you sent your ECU to them. I know you're talking about eBay 10 cent "chip" which are BS. Jet is a real chipped ECU.

I have a 2002 GT, and I would like to turbo my car, but I don't have enough money currently, and I probably will not have enough money in the near future. So, according to Pinapple, the Jet performance chip does remap the ECU, and won't just pump more fuel into the engine?? Have you had any actual experience with the chip Pineapple, or is this just what you think will happen?
P.S. I have a short shifter on the way

if you have a GT, do not bother modding it for speed/performance. there is none.

well maybe we should knw how much "faster" you want your car to be? Do you want to get as much as you can with NA? Or are you seriously thinking of boosting this car in the near futur . If you want to go really fast, than this car sint the right option....but it looks nice and you can mod it for looks and minor gains mostly for sound purposes (intake headers and exhaust). Check out the gallery and see if any of the "show" cars inspire you to go a different route.

Arabian, why do you suggest the short shifter for fun? Is it really a great mod to have? No performance gains though right? Just good for racing. What brand do you recommend? and what are the prices

the shift is much shorter and when I put it into my seventh gen the hard second gear became as easy to shift in as the others and overall since you dont have to push the shifter into the dash anymore...it was such a short throw and its a much better feel. I really enjoyed that mod more than anyother one (well tinting was good too). I dunno how you feel about shifting in that car I just felt it was pissing me off to have toshift because it was such a bitch...this made me happy

wow, that's pretty convincing. I know what you're talking about, except reverse is hard to get into and i have to let out the clutch a little to get it to slip into it. Also, shifting becomes a chore at slow speeds when i don't wanna gun it. what brand do you recommend? i heard tvm and b and m are good.
