GReddy EVO2 Exhaust

Hey everyone, im new on the site, I have a 2002 Spec Blue Celica GTS and is looking to do some modifications. I have already put on aftermarket tail lights, CAI, window tint and a couple little mods here and there. I recently took my celica to local muffler shop and had them cut off my resonator and repipe it. It sounds pretty good but seem to be louder inside the car than outside, and cruisin down the hwy is loud as hell. So im lookin into gettin a cat-back exhaust. Ive read that the TRD exhuast is the best overall, but is kindof out of my price range, Ive read up on the Greddy Evo 2 exhuast and it looks like i may be second best. I was wondering, for those who has the greddy, does it drone while drivin down the hwy, and how does it sound inside and out. I want something with decent hp/torque gains as well as sounding good but not too loud.

well, i have the greddy evo2 and its pretty damn quiet. u can't really hear it unless ur flooring it. i kinda like that though, it doesn't draw useless attention to you and the cops don't bother you. if u have the resonator i assume it'll be a bit louder though.

they did a performance test in sport compact car i think and greddy was 3rd most powerful. first was TRD, then followed by Tanabe. the Tanabe was really loud though, 98 db if i remember right. plus, it had the resonators in, so without it, its gonna be deafening.

btw, how much did it cost to get rid of ur resonator?

Thanx Dimensionzero for the info, i was wonderin also, what does the greddy exhaust bolt up to, the stock resonator or the catalack converter?, cause if i removed my resonator, am i gona have to take it to shop and weld it on cause it wont be a bolt on fit... um cost me $30 to take to local muffler shop to get the resonator cut off, repiped and disposed of. One last question, is the section right behind the cat a resonator too, because i had the resonotor(2nd muffler) right in front of the rear tires removed, not that one, is that what the greddy exhaust bolds too?

the greddy bolts to the back, near the axle. its more of an axle back exhaust system since the cat doesn't have bolts on it. its really simple, just two bolts and then hangers. oh and most of the exhaust systems out there for the celica are "axle" back.

exhaust site

hey guys, i dont really use this site much, but i'm always on newcelica.org. i found a pretty good link on there that has a bunch of different catbacks with sound clips, dyno charts, hp/tq numbers, dB level at idle/3000 rpm, tip diameter, weight, and MSRP. here's the link:

http://turbomagazine.com/tech/0209tur_exhaust/

hope it helps...
anyone in OC area selling a catback? i'm looking for any one of these:

TRD
RS*R Ex-Mag GTII
GReddy EVO2
APEXi N1

you can get me through email at leongc@uci.edu or PM
thanks guys

Thanx getmadboy that is a good site.Im sorry i might of asked this earlyer, but im confused k im gona started at the headers of the exhaust then u go back u gots your cat, then a resonator then i guess a second muffler/resontor(big one) then u gots your actuall muffler/tip. I removed my second muffler/resonator, does the Evo 2 exhaust bolt to that muffler(second muffler) or do u remove that and bolt to the flange before that muffler, bacause if it bolts to that muffler/resonoter, then im screwed.

the greddy replaces the second muffler, it'll bolt on a little before it.

oh, and if ur still confused, go to that site with all the exhausts and information on them. click on the picture with all the exhausts on cardboard, and the greddy is the middle of the front row.
