brake fluid is brake fluid...
i use toyota's oem stuff or what ever else is in the garage at the time... it's not as critical as the system it's flowing in just make sure it meats the dot specs

I guess for the avg. driver, brake fluid would be just...brake fluid. I'm relatively hard on my brakes especially on the hwy and have been through some autox so naturally I'd like to upgrade. I suppose brake bleeds (w/ OEM fluid) a few more times throughout the year would be just as effective.

I plan to switch all my fluids (clutch, tranny, engine, brake, and differential) to synthetic Motul once I hit the 5K mark.
I've heard nothing but amazing reviews on Motul for all applications.

From DOT3, 4 or 5.1 is the considerable upgrade.

Do a search on internet. One site explain in detail what the DOTs really mean. One of the DOT 4 or 5 absorb more mositure and require more frequent change then DOT3. The other one is compressible and make brake sponge.

All I'm saying is DOT5 shouldn't be used in a car that uses DOT3 fluid. Even those links say so.
DOT4 or DOT5.1 still absorbs moisture but at a slower rate than DOT3. They also have higher boiling points than DOT3.
