Engine compartment

I own a 2000 Celica GT 5 speed and was wondering if anyone had done any reading up on engine swaps for the Celica I also currently own a 2001 Honda Civic hatch back with a Beast engine I enjoy the extra horsepower under the hood Beast is a 220 hp 4 banger and comes with 178lbs of torque. I was looking to do the same with my Celica seeing as it is better looking and a lot cleaner on looks that a civic could ever be. Any help on any engines that I could swap with would help or even a measurement of the compartment would help.

Leave me be was my first car and was the one that started me into street and then i realized how over played hondas were and decided I am just another car on the road regardless of what i do to it, reason enough. I appreciate the input from Lfsabch, thanks.

i mena tthat in an "i am impressed" way.. the beast motor is a robust motor that make reliable power adn it shows that you are smart enought to not try to diy a 200 hp na honda on a first try.

i was being impressed not rude...

Ok sorry

Well then I appologize as coming of peturbed just I spend time on my vehicles and I take the time to figure the + and - to a mod b4 I do it as I like to way my options and seeing as the beast is the beast crate engine u can drop in a honda and not everyone is doing *cough*Spoon*cough*. I just make my vehicle not only my hobby but my life as I really enjoy going to a new base hence I am military and ppl dropping jaws at the new whip(dumbest thing i have heard yet) rollin through base. Thank you for the complement actually I am impressed that someone in a celica forum is suprised at someone that modded a honda. on another topic I have been reading alot of post lately here and there are good ideas, I was wondering if anyone has pics of a modded body kit since it seems that in turkey custom kits are their specialty I would like to get ideas average on a kit with custom paint job is $900 USD. And do u have specs for the engine or have a link I can check it out. Would appreciate the help since I have owned my celica all of 4 months now and am searching for the look and speed I want.

honda's get modded everyday.. btu thye all do frankenstines and homebrew turbos and shit... to see someone order up a true crate motor for a civic.. that's a rarity with the number of bolt on's that are avalible and the number of b-1?'s that are in engine importers all over the place

You might want to consider getting the motor that they put in the scion tc.. i think its the same motor they put in the camry. my roommate has a tc and its alot faster than you would think, it runs about even with an integra gsr from what i've seen. I think a celica (being alot lighter than a tc) would be fairly quick with that motor. -not really sure if it will fit or not. Be sure to get some wide tires in the front too, i think the 2.4 has around 160 torque or so, tires might want to spin alot

I wonder if that would even fit though lol speaking of which i will see if i can find the link of a Volkswagen rabbit that has an extended engine bay with a porche engine under the hood shows it smoking traffic on the autobahn, back to subject do not wanna seem like a celica4life, but anyone know where i can find engine by and engine measurements I would like to look into it more I saw the 3gste looks most cost effective and a little better for making my money go somewhere useful, better than gutting a scion and gutting my celica just to make it a scion with a celica body, makes the car too honda-ie IMO, not saying the 3gste doesn't. I just have a thing about hating scion's and their box car look and their pointless comercials.

why would you bother though trying to get that motor in? It would take tons of modifications, that you might as well just try and put something better in to start with.

Not that I would recommend doing any swap.

by the engine bay and engine measurements I ment for my celica just to see my options not measurements for the scion. Just want info is all kinda dance on my new car project looking for things to do to it.

Sorry Burr if u did not want this posted, but wanted to post ur message since anyone else needing help with this subject can get knowledge.
I know it was stated in a previous thread:

Also, the one thing that the Celica shines at is it's handling. If you put in a different engine chances are it's going to be much heavier and throw off your balance and the cars natural low weight.

Hope this helps.
