Snapped off sway bar bracket bolt - how to fix?

I was helping a friend install a Hotchkiss front sway bar on his 2002 Celica. We had the engine cradle lowered, and while removing one of the sway bar bracket bolts, it snapped off flush. I'm guessing we'll have to remove the engine cradle entirely in order to remove the bolt. Would you please pass along some advice?

Is there an easier way than removing the engine cradle entirely?

Can the engine cradle be removed without using an engine sling from above to support the engine, as the factory manual recommends?

What else (besides the bolts, rack, etc.) mentioned in the Hotchkiss manual has to be removed to get the engine cradle out completely?

We had the car on ramps. How do you prevent the wheels from collapsing inward when the engine cradle is removed, since the control arms are attached to it? Should we instead put the car on jack stands so the wheels are off the ground?

Thanks.
