unless the car is sitting in a showroom, or on a show fairgrounds, I would recommend 17's.

having had all of the above on my car at one time or another i would say 17's for a daily driver... 18's for a second car

Hmm, this decision is becoming ever harder.
When u say 17's ride alot better... how bad are 18's? i dont race my car... and am not particuly a fast driver. only have a blast maybe twice a month or so... but its far from extreme. Im far more concerned by looks than performance. However... i dont want the handling to be affected so much to the extent it will make it dangerous to drive? Thanks for all the help so far.

Gonna go with 18"'s thing is with most 17" rims you won't be able to fit larger discs with uprated aftermarket calipers. but you can fit just the Big brakes as in new rotors . Although you can get some 18"'s which are lighter than then 17"'s but if you do get 18"s try to get the same rolling radius as the 17"s and you won't loose too much. But like others have said harsh ride, all depends on your application what you want you could increase the rubber size to compensite for the harshness which will also protect the rim a bit better going over ruts and pot poles etc.
