Aspirated Power for 1ZZ engine

Is there anyone in the GTA that has built up their engine through standard aspirated improvements? I am considering having the head flowed, and blueprinting the engine for a good and balanced output. I have to think that after this work is done, the 1ZZ could easily put out 180, possibly more with intake and exhaust. It would also be a good opportunity to get the internals checked and tested to ensure that not only the HP could be supported, but also further the longevity of the car. Is there anyone out there that has done this, or could recommend a shop to do so? Thanks to all for their time.
(I know that the turbo option is the big one here for a quick HP hit, but most of the kits to me seem unproven. I have a higher mileage GT and would like to get a bit more out of it without sacrificing the Toyota reliability. THANKS to all)

In all honesty the amount of money it would take to build a NA 1ZZ engine to 180 whp would be better spent on a something else. I'm not trying to knock your intentions but many people have tried and failed.

If you are dead set on NA and on a celica, I would say since you already have a high milage engine, to swap it for a low milage 2ZZ and build that NA. It would be money much better spent, that being said, I don't think either option is money well spent. Just my opinion though.

Good luck which ever way you choose.

P&P will only get you about 20% gain. You'll need a lot more to get 180HP crank. Like higher compression piston and tuned ECU. Intake and exhaust will give you 10% most. Quickest way to get 180HP is nitrous.

Thanks to all for their comments. It definitely sounds like the cost outweighs the gain. Curious what is it about these motors that so limits their potential. Are these engines already engineered to provide peak power for their design? When I look at other engines, and many I consider with inferior engineering (Ford:-) ) with the same or less displacement have a much higher potential. A case example are the Cosworth kits that are made for the Focus. Anyways, thanks for your time and thoughts!
